Determining Predictors for Allocation and Appropriate Levels for Internal Service Funds

Project Description:

The City uses the General Fund, Water Fund, and Sewer Fund as the three operating funds for the government.  The internal service funds, Administration, Fleet, Facilities, IT, are all funded by internal allocations from the operating funds.  We would like to work with the capstone team to analyze the Internal Service Funds from all of the Operating Funds to find a model that explains and predicts a better allocation of the operating funds. It would require an extraordinary effort to complete this analysis for all funds, and may be more appropriate to complete one fund at a time.
