Wellpath LLC Project 2
Term: Fall 2020Faculty Advisor: Bhaven Mistry
Project Description:
The project goal is to ideate, design, and develop a clinically-focused, individual-level model that describes health risk among the U.S. incarcerated population. Collaborators will be asked to survey literature for understanding previous uses of risk models1, and to identify publicly available data sources along with internal data resources necessary for preliminary model construction. Following the established methodological approach for model design, collaborators will work with Wellpath stakeholders, where necessary, to develop the model for testing.
A primary aim is to establish a reliable method for determining health status trends among our patient population. Monitored over time, the model will enable longitudinal analyses to measure the effectiveness of Wellpath clinical care by comparing risk-adjusted outcomes. Successful predictive models will incorporate multiple data types and time series features to assess health risk and estimate future clinical services demands.
